ST. ANSGAR — Nick Fox was able to do something that no other Osage wrestler has ever accomplished in a long, storied history of Green Devils wrestling on Tuesday, Jan. 17.

He became the career all-time winning wrestler in school history with 180 and counting in Osage’s 39-30 Senior Night win over rival Crestwood, Cresco. It passes Brock Jennings, who finished 179-33 from 2014-17.

“Awesome for him,” coach Brent Jennings said. “He’s had an awesome career here as a Green Devil and real proud of him. He worked really hard, so it’s outstanding. Just a great kid. It couldn’t have happened to a better guy.”

It was essentially what Fox has been working for since he walked into the Osage wrestling room as a freshman.

“I knew I wanted to break the all-time win record,” Fox said, “and obviously some other records, too, but it’s pretty cool to get that.

“It’s cool. I know it’s going to get broken again in the next year or two. I know that Tucker (Stangel) will probably break it, and Blake (Fox, his brother) will probably break that. It’s cool for now.”

The full story, and more photos, will be found in the Jan. 25 print and e-editions of the Enterprise Journal.
