MASON CITY — Even though a lot of the Osage boys’ golf team members weren’t happy with their performances, it was still good enough to top both the host school, Mason City Newman, and Central Springs on Monday, April 24.

In fact, the Green Devils had the four lowest scores of the day at Highland Park Golf Course in Mason City to win with 161, 33 strokes better than second-place Central Springs.

Leo Klapperich was the overall meet medalist with 38, followed by Nolan Heard as the medalist runner-up with 40. Rounding out team scoring were Ty Voigt (41) and Heath Voigt (42).

But regular scorers, Bodie Goddard and Tucker Stangel, who have golfed well as of late, finished with 50s.

“I think a lot of the golfers were a little unhappy with their scores because it was one of the few times this year we haven’t had a lot of wind,” Osage coach Eric Goddard said…
