No. 9 Osage rolls over Huskies

OSAGE — The Class 3A No. 9 Osage girls’ basketball team wasted little time in putting Nashua-Plainfield in the rearview mirror, 67-16, to post the Green Devils’ sixth win in a row since the winter break.

It marked the 21st consecutive win over the Huskies for Osage, dating back to Jan. 6, 2007.

Claudia Aschenbrenner led a trio in double-digit scoring for the Green Devils with 21 points as they improved to 12-1 overall, 9-1 in the Top of Iowa East Conference.

Samie Brandau posted a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds, and Erica Gast came off the bench to tally 13 points on 5-of-10 shooting, including a 3-of-4 night from beyond the three-point line. Rylie Tabbert handed out seven assists, and Jacey Johnston, who also had 11 rebounds, led the team in steals with six and added six assists.
