WAVERLY — The Osage girls’ track and field team brought a small contingent to the second of three Wartburg Indoor meets this season, but the few the Green Devils brought were mighty.

Among the few finishes for coach Adam Brinkman’s squad included a 400-meter championship for freshman Jacey Johnston and fifth for senior Brooklynn Halbach in the 55-meter hurdles after qualifying for the final with the third-fastest time.

J. Johnston followed up an impressive first performance from the Dickinson Relays the week before with a new personal best in 1 minute, 00.27 seconds to claim the 400, topping a pair from Class 4A Waukee Northwest by more than a second. It was the eighth-fastest indoor time in Iowa so far this season.
