Millie was born on Feb. 22, 1932 tobrBernard and Lorena (Blonigan) Hemrich, on the family farm in Osage, IA.  Shebrgraduated from Immaculate Conception Academy in Dubuque, IA and attended St. Mary’sbrSchool of Nursing in Sioux City, IA.  Shebrmarried Donald Hatten of Stacyville, IA on March 26, 1951 in New Haven, IA.brThey raised their four children, Greg, Renee, Mark, and Colette predominatelybrin Rochester, MN followed by Fairfield, CT after 1968.

A life centered around faith, family, and friends kept her heartbrfulfilled.   Millie loved spending timebrwith her family, enjoying music, going to the beach and eating ice creambr(especially sundaes).  Her spirit livesbron through such memories and photographs. brThe importance of communicating with her children and grandchildren,brespecially on their birthdays was a priority for her. Her grandchildren fondlybrremember Grandma singing “Happy Birthday” on the phone in the mornings beforebrschool.

Millie is survived by her children;brGreg Hatten of Rochester, MN, Renee (Vincent) Hatten-Montagne of Boise, ID,brMark Hatten of Ft. Worth, TX, Colette (Ian) Maher of Melrose, MA; sixbrgrandchildren, Fiona and Lilian Montagne, Grayson and Reagan Hatten, Lauren andbrAlex Maher; and sister Dody (Bernie) Elwood of Taylor, TX.

Millie was preceded in death by herbrparents, Bernard and Lorena; brothers, Joseph, Jerome, Everett and Ronald; and sisters,brKathleen O’Neill, Adeline Nees, and Mary Lou Hemrich.

A funeral Mass will be celebratedbrat 10:00 on Saturday, June 5th at St. Peters Catholic Church in NewbrHaven, IA.  Interment will follow in thebrchurch cemetery.  The family will receivebrfriends before the service starting at 9:30. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributionsbrcan be made to Alzheimer’s Research & Prevention Foundation (ARPF).
