Not gone for long Cakerice hangs up admin role, will remain as coach

Scott Cakerice may be hanging it up for his administrative role at St. Ansgar schools, but he’s firmly holding onto is coach’s whistle.
The long-time administrator, who is finishing his 10th year at St. Ansgar, five of which he has spent as the athletic director, is retiring at the end of the school year. He started in administration 40 years ago in 1981.
A lot has changed over the years and some has stayed the same.
“The biggest change is in parents and how they work with the school,” Cakerice said. “Sometime for the better, sometime not so much. What I’m saying is that St. Ansgar parents support the school through thick and thin. The facilities are first-rate, if there is an issue, they are on it. That wouldn’t happen without the support of the community.
