The Green Devils’ shooters were led by Truman Myers’ 97, followed by Jack Sparrow and Ethan Brock with 96 and Joe Koehler, 94.

Other scores for Osage included Franklin Bielecki and Tate Williamson, both shooting 93s.

“All of the kids had an amazing day,” Johnson said via social media. “We are losing a few seniors that will be tough to replace, but these young kids we have are ready to step up.”

Osage flipped the script from last year as last year’s state champions, Okoboji, was the runner-up to the Green Devils, just three shots behind (473). Coach Nate Hale’s Riceville team was a distant third with a team score of 455, led by Carver Hale’s 95. The Wildcats’ scoring also included Caleb Zweibohmer (92), Caleb Marr (91), Noah Beran (90) and Nacy Evans (87).

The St. Ansgar varsity girls finished third in their category and the Saint JV won the state title. The Saints Desi Igou finished third, shooting 89, with her place determined by reverse order.

The full story, and more photos, appear in the June 5 print and e-editions of the Enterprise Journal.
