Obituary: Jerry Lee “Butch” Boerjan

Jerry Lee “Butch” Boerjan, 76, of Alma, AR passed away on Friday, March 5, 2021 in a local hospital. He was a farmer, made farm equipment and raised cattle. He enjoyed trapshooting and hosting trap shoots at his residence for 25 years. Jerry was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, dancing, attending church, traveling and taking cruises. He was always up for an adventure. He was born December 29, 1944 in Osage, Iowa to the late Henry and Eleanor (Bublitz) Boerjan. Also, preceded in death by a brother, H. Allen (Jr.) Boerjan and a granddaughter, Miranda Burcham.br

The family will visit with friends from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon, March 7, 2021 at Ocker Chapel of Alma. Services will be under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma. A graveside service will be held in St. Ansgar, Iowa with Pastor Squires officiating.br

Survivors include his wife, Gaila Boerjan of the home; daughter, Donna Lewis and companion Donnie of Mt. Burg, sons, Ricky Boerjan and wife Wanda of Alma, Rodney Boerjan and wife Angie of Greenwood, Christopher Boerjan and wife Micah of Van Buren, AR; step daughter, Dana Spahn of Barling; stepsons, Mark Whitson of Little Rock and Guy Whitson and wife Shannon of Alma; 15 Grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
