Osage claimed the team title with the very first conference champion in all girls history with 100-pounder Alexis Kolbet, one of five for the Green Devils, which accumulated 249 team points to distance itself from the runner-up North Central Trailblazers (181.5).

“I’m never going to forget this,” Kolbet said about making school and conference history. “This is it. I feel like it’s gone great. Everybody really pulled through and showed everyone what we’re made of.”

Green Devil junior Gable Hemann earned her 100th career victory in the semifinal and then went on to take the 110-pound title with another battle for an 8-3 decision over St. Ansgar’s Mariah Michels to be voted TIC Wrestler of the Year.

“It’s definitely heart-warming,” she said, “and a big sentimental thing and a big accomplishment in the Osage environment, you know?”
