Riceville sweeps Don Bosco

RICEVILLE — Riceville’s softball team served up a doubleheader sweep against Don Bosco last week.

The Wildcats survived a late rally in the 8-6 opener and then poured it on late to win 14-4 in seven innings.

Callee Fair hit 3-for-4 with two RBI in support of Morgan Fair in the circle, who went the distance, giving up 11 hits and four walks.

br

The Dons scored four runs late to make it interesting.

br

In the nightcap, Riceville built an 8-0 lead into the bottom of the fourth inning.

br

In this game, Callee Fair did the hitting again, this time going 2-for-4, including a double and two RBI in support of Morgan Fair, who struck out four and gave up four hits while walking none.

The Wildcats stole seven bases in the second-game win.

Riceville improved to 5-1 overall.
