Saints dedicate field in win over Algona Garrigan

ST. ANSGAR — The Saints celebrated the field renovation dedication with a 4-0 win over Algona Garrigan on Wednesday night.

Coach Lance Schutjer gave a commemorative softball to IGHSAU executive director Jean Berger before the game as well as those who gave time and money to the field improvements threw out an honorary first pitch.

The Saints combined for seven hits off of The Golden Bears’ Ella Schaaf while Josie Juhl scattered three hits in the shutout.

St. Ansgar improved to 12-5-1 after Wednesday’s victory.

Thursday’s non-conference game at Iowa Falls-Alden High School was canceled due to weather conditions.
