Only getting started

Hi, I’m new here! But I’m not.
Maybe you’ve seen me around. Although I am just getting started covering St. Ansgar, Osage and hoping to bring Riceville into the Mitchell County fold, I’ve been in North Iowa since 2012.
So, the Top of Iowa Conference and the Iowa Star Conference is not new to me. Perhaps that is where you’ve seen my face.
While covering West Fork and North Butler for the former Corn Bowl converted to TIC and Clarksville for the Iowa Star Conference, that makes my transition all the more familiar. At least I hope so.
I am originally from Des Moines, but have spent time in a variety of communities, including Montezuma, Grinnell, Muscatine and most recently, Hampton. I graduated from the University of Iowa after spending a couple of years at Simpson College. I’m a diehard Cubs fan, so feel sorry for me as of late.
Anyone who knows me knows that I work hard at what I do and try to be present as much as possible. Expect more of the same here. Names, faces in the local newspaper are important. It’s what makes what we all do relatable.
And quotes. Lots of quotes. I was surprised to hear that it had been a while since a local coach hadn’t been interviewed in quite a while. Don’t you want to hear people’s opinions on how they performed? Their thoughts on the state of how things are going? I do. I hope you do, too.
So, that is what you can expect from me. Don’t be shy, introduce yourself if you see me around. It shouldn’t be long before I memorize who is who. I never seem to forget a face.
Also, if you have a story idea or a feature that has just been waiting to be told, let me know. That is what I’m here for.
