Green Devils claim home green

OSAGE  — This group of Osage boys’ golfers accomplished something that hadn’t been done since about 23 years before they were born.br

An 18-hole record of 322, six strokes better than the records coach Eric Goddard has going back to 1982.

“That’s fun,” conference champion medalist Leo Klapperich said, “that’s really exciting.”

Conference and medalist runner-up Shawn Eichmeier added, “It’s crazy. I’m glad to be a part of it for sure.”

Klapperich carded 76, Eichmeier 80 and the third-place finisher was Nolan Heard (82).

“I had a good idea they’d play pretty well today,” coach Goddard said. “The weather was nice and it was their home course, so I was expecting them to play well, but that was a little better than they were going to do.”
