Celebrate Pollinator Week; June 21st – June 27th

Celebrate Pollinator Week
June 21st – 27th is national pollinator week. Pollinators are responsible for approximately every 3rd bite of food that we consume.  Pollinator habitat consists of flowering native plants that bloom throughout the entire growing season.  This habitat is not just for the birds, bees and butterflies, it is something that we can all enjoy.  Come join us at one of the three pollinator fields days to learn more about the importance of pollinators and their habitat.  There will be a short program, followed by a walk through the prairie to enjoy its beauty, and plenty of time for discussion.
These are the times and locations for each field day site:
•Tuesday, June 22 – 9:30-11:00 AM just south of 3698 Hickory Avenue, Osage.
•Tuesday, June 22 – 1:00-2:30 AM across the road from 1226 US Highway 218, Floyd.
• Wednesday, June 23 – 9:30-11:00 AM just east of 1521 215th Street, Ionia.
These events are free and open to the public, please feel free to join us at one or more of these sites.  Snacks and water will be provided.  For further information or questions please contact Dan Borchardt, Pheasants Forever Farm Bill Wildlife Biologist, at 641-430-3354 or dborchardt@pheasantsforever.org.  USDA is an Equal Opportunity Provider, Employer and Lender.
