Osage girls win home meet; Saint boys runner-up

OSAGE — Osage claimed six individual victories, including a sprint sweep (100, 200 and 400) from senior Meredith Street, as the Green Devil girls won their portion of Osage Co-Ed on Monday, April 4 with 117 team points.

St. Ansgar’s Riley Witt made it a distance sweep (800, 1,600 and 3,200) on the boys’ side as the Saints finished runner-up to Charles City, 154-141.

Also earning victories for coach Adam Brinkman’s squad were Katelyn Johnston in the 3,000, Brooklynn Halbach in the 100-meter hurdles and Addy Grimm in the 800.

St. Ansgar girls were fourth in the eight-team field with 95 points, including wins in the shuttle hurdle relay made up of Sarah Wagner, Kennedy Schwiesow, Bri Minnis and Aspen Falk and the 4×400 team that included Mariah Michels, Amelia Porisch, Falk and Natalie Bork. Other wins for the Saint boys included Bradley Hackenmiller in the open 400, the sprint medley relay quartet of Joey Beyer, Will Knowlton, Dylann Brumm and Hackenmiller and the 4×400 team of Drew Powers, Hackenmiller, Lorne Isler and Witt.

Victories for the Osage boys team, which finished fifth in the team scoring with 65.5 points, included Ben Miller in the 110-meter high hurdles in 16.36 seconds, Cole Adams in the 400-meter hurdles at 59.30 and the shuttle hurdle relay team in Adams, Kevin Blair, Joey Potter and Miller.
