Riceville sixth in eight-team UIC field

TRIPOLI — Riceville may have not had the biggest team at the Upper Iowa Conference Wrestling tournament, but five of the six Wildcats placed top-five to impact the team race on Thursday, Jan. 26.

Coach Ché Oulman’s squad had a trio finish third, including 120-pounder Chance Christensen, Anthony Houser at 160 pounds and Andrew Pridgen (182) in scoring 67 points for sixth out of the eight-team field.

The team title came down to the final championship match as MFL MarMac won 220-218 over North Fayette Valley.

Matthew Praska (195) was also in the consolation final, but settled for fourth place while Marco Avila took fifth, and the final placewinner for Riceville came with a sixth-place finish for Will Felper at 132.
