But the Raiders offense was on point in a 76-38 victory over coach Matt Schwade’s Wildcats on Friday, Dec. 8.

After a 28-8 first quarter, the visitors held a 47-23 halftime lead, but despite this, Schwade was happy with his team’s defensive effort against the Raiders (4-0, 4-0).

“It was a wild game,” Schwade said. “Both teams play hard and fast, but I thought this was our best effort of the season. We really competed against a team that is ranked sixth in the state. We held them to our lowest scoring output of the season by about 20.

“Both teams are similar styles and, you know, it makes for a fun game to watch if you’re in the stands.”

Each squad had a fair share of turnovers via the offensive foul, but Riceville’s top scorer, Johnny Adams, had at least three of his fouls coming via the charge call.

“A lot of charge calls,” Jo. Adams said. “We’ll have to clean that up and be more controlled when we go in for shots in the future, but overall, I think we played really good tonight.”
