Wildcats 10th in Iowa Star Meet
TRIPOLI — The Riceville boys golf team finished 10th out of 11 teams competing in the Iowa Star Conference meet held at Tripoli’s Maple Hills Country Club on Wednesday, May 1.
It was the first 18-hole meet for the Wildcats, who were playing on a very soggy course after back-to-back days of extremely heavy rain in that area. In fact, there were spots with standing water.
Nevertheless, the sun was out, and it wasn’t extremely windy for coach Sal Gomez’s team as it accumulated 450 points for the Wildcats’ finish.
