Wildcats top West Central on Hall of Fame night

RICEVILLE – In front of the only Riceville football team to win a state title, the Wildcats put together a comfortable 36-0 win over West Central in a home game Friday night at Rasmussen field.

That 1993 team was recognized at halftime as part of this year’s Riceville Hall of Fame class, but their successors earned praise on the field, dominating the first half and preserving the shutout in the second.

Riceville scored three times in the first quarter, with quarterback Jack Adams hooking up with Kaden Kobliska for a 33-yard score to put the Wildcats on the scoreboard. On their next possession, Andrew Beran crashed into the end zone at the end of a nine-yard run, and Aidan Ebert put the ‘Cats up 22-0 with a seven yard catch with 52.6 seconds remaining.
